A Totally Normal Painting Hanging on the Wall
A downloadable game for Windows
My entry for Scream Jam 2022 +1. This is a tiny short story/visual novel (visual short story?) about dealing with death as an EMT. It's based on real calls and real experiences, but I took a little poetic license (it's a horror jam, after all). Your choices do matter and will affect what happens in the story but this is a very short, focused experience.
Content warning here for death, dead bodies, and grief. The horror "spice level" is very mild, but the real-life trauma scale is a fair bit higher.

excellent title. i'm looking forward to your longer title.
HELL YES I LOVED THIS. i've been really keen to see what you get up to since i started following your pixel art journeys on cohost and this did not disappoint!!! your writing is spectacular and everything in this just goes together so well. even if i hadn't read the description or anything else, i'd have probably been able to guess that this was written by an EMT just based on the emotional resonance of this story.
so keen for The Tunnel!
this is really cool!! i enjoy simple games a lot, and the atmosphere and music were really perfect... the writing was really engaging, i played through it twice but i didn't notice much difference, so now i'm thinking of playing a third time... i wanna know all the secrets......
great game, thank you for sharing!
